A pre-wash oil treatment for coarse, curly and colour-worn hair, sat at the top of the scale where it belongs. It goes on dry hair the night before a wash, does its work while you sleep, and leaves with the shampoo.
Because it is rinsed out, the weight number is a statement about what it does to hair while it is on rather than what it leaves behind. That is the one place in the catalog where a 5 is not a warning — but it is still a 5, and on fine hair overnight is too long. Thirty minutes before a wash is the fine-hair version of this product.

How to use
- Six to ten drops on dry hair, mid-lengths and ends, the night before a wash.
- Plait it or tie it up, and use a pillowcase you do not mind oiling.
- In the morning, shampoo twice. One wash will not fully clear it.
- Fine hair: thirty minutes before the shower rather than overnight.
Cautions
- Not a leave-in. This is a pre-wash treatment and it must be rinsed out.
- Contains coconut oil, which some hair types find stiffening rather than softening. Try one application before committing to a routine.
- Not for the scalp — the point of contact is the strand.
